Jon Provost | Lassie
Jon Provost portrayed “Timmy Martin,” the well-known human friend of Lassie. John joined the cast at the age of seven, and he rapidly became a vital part of the plot. He stepped up to a great degree admirably, and he and Lassie became an iconic partnership, to the point that neither could appear on the show without the other.
Provost began his acting career at a young age and was cast in The Country Girl when he was four years old. He took on even more responsibilities in 1956 and 1957, but it was the latter year that he felt genuinely connected to his work. Jon dropped out of the scene when he approached his mid-teenage years and went on to work in television and film. Jon then moved to Northern California after high school to be “a normal college guy.” Provost had changed dramatically from the small child “Timmy” that audiences had grown to love. Yet, even after all these years, he still has a soft spot for the franchise.
