Jerry Mathers | Leave It to Beaver
If you’re familiar with the name Theodor “Beaver” Clever,” Jerry Mathers made this young boy famous back in the late ‘50s to the early ‘60s. He’s best known for the then-hit sitcom Leave It to Beaver. His frankness at a young age caught the show’s producers’ attention, making him perfect for the role.
In six years and about 234 episodes, Mathers successfully played the role that made his mark in the business. In fact, he was the first actor who had a deal made on his behalf to receive a percentage of the show’s merchandising revenue. Mathers already knew how to be out of debt and any financial loans at a young age, securing a bright future for himself. Indeed it’s a smart move that the actor did. After more than half a century and the TV series production run, Leave it to Beaver still earns good profit today.
