Jay North | Dennis the Menace

Jay North brought to life the iconic comic strip character Dennis Mitchell by Hank Ketcham in Dennis the Menace’s TV series in the late ’50s. At the age of seven, the now-69-year-old star instantly became a household name, thanks to his well-meaning but mischievous character. At the time, his career had a fantastic start. North might be one of the few child actors with eight TV series, two variety shows, and three movies to his name.

Of course, his colorful career didn’t just stop there. When he turned into a teen, he started doing movies for the Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer and an NBC TV series. As he became a full-grown adult, North ventured into voice acting for different TV animated series. However, as he left the entertainment business, North revealed the degree of hardships he had been through as a child star and joined a cause to counsel young kids working in the industry.
