If you have a background in healthcare and support systems, working as a Doula might be a viable choice. Contrary to popular belief, a doula doesn’t need a degree in a field related to healthcare. However, they need to have a strong and assuring personality, with which to carry their clients during some of their darkest days.

Indeed, it is the job of the doulas to complement professional healthcare specialists in their work. Specialists deal with their patients’ overall health status, while a doula focuses on the psychological and emotional side of things. However, it is essential to take note that they are only there to support their clients, motivate them to reach their goals, and not do the job of psychologists and psychiatrists.
